How can I manually edit existing IDs and Passwords?

Oh, this is interesting... And a Roboform user may have this question when using Sxipper for the first time.

It seems the only way to change either ID or Password is to go through an actual login on desired site and hope Sxipper remembers.

Separately, I just deleted a particular site with incorrect ID and Password and then went through the site's 2-step (separate pages) login. Sxipper simply will not remember the ID (1st page) but it does remember the password (2nd page).

Well, Sxipper doesn't like Roboform and you don't need to create a login item before using it. Just login to a website as usual and Sxipper will try to detect the information for you. So there's no way in design to let you manually edit those login IDs/passwords.

But in case, if you really want to take the risk of yourself, you can try to backup (export) the logins, manually add that file and restore is back to your browser.

The backup data file is actually a plain text file. Each line of the file has the following fields. Modify it when you clearly know the meaning of each field and take your own risk.
"hostname","username","password","formSubmitURL","httpRealm","usernameField","passwordField"
Good luck! ;)

How to transfer Sxipper from one computer to another?

This question is kind of popular. Actually, Sxipper has the backup/restore feature that you can use for this purpose.

Go to menu Tools->Sxipper->Preferences, the backup/restore feature is available in the "General" tab.

Next step is an alert. The main issue here is that all information in the backup file/folder are plain text. Anybody who can access the backup content is easily read and understand your information. So the message "We recommend you take steps to protect this data ..." usually means you'd better encrypt it with a password. There are many applications can do that.

Next step is to choose what information need to backup. If you want to transfer the backup file to another computer. The option "Preferences" is not necessary and may cause problem if you restore that information to your new computer.

For Firefox 3.0+, it's possible to put all backup data together into a .zip file. But in Firefox 2.x, that option is not selectable. It just because the API to handle zip is not provided by Firefox 2.x.

In next step, Sxipper will tell you the backup status for each selected contents.

Then you can send the file/copy the folder to another computer and restore from it.

If you just want to backup/restore passwords (which has your trainer name/id), you can use the buttons in "Login" tab. Or if you want to backup/restore persona data, use the buttons in "Form Fill" tab.

Try it and have fun!

How do I find the disposable email address?

Sometimes a disposable email address that was used once can not be found in password manager. It could happen when you login to a website with that disposable email address, but didn't choose to "Remember" it as a login item.

To find out all the disposable emails that you've ever created/used, you can go to Sxipper "Try it out" page and click the "Email Address" field, then all disposable emails should be listed there -- unless you delete it manually.

Here is a sample but I've hidden my real emails. :)

Could not submit training?

Sometime we met "Could not submit training." issue. Like this one:

In most cases, it means there's a problem happened in the training system to process your request. But you can still have your training saved locally -- just check the check box "Save map locally" above and then click "Done" again.

So don't worry about this error. It just won't be submitted to Sxipper service and shared with others. But your experience of using Sxipper will be the same as usual.

Is my password safe?

Well, it's true that someone may get confused for the "Trainer name" in the form fill overlay. This is a typical one:

I logged on to webmail and accepted Sxipper to remember my password. When I log off, Sxipper displays normally the gray clickable logon box.

However, right after "auto submit" checkbox there is a text which shows: "trainer: aStranger" without quotes. It's not my trainer name and I have not ever heard about that name. When I click the name, browser goes to aStranger.sxipper.com. It gives me a profile page. When I click "My Profile" on that page, browser goes to myself.sxipper.com, and "myself" is my first name. On other websites the gray box shows my login account, but doesn't show any trainer name.

I am the only user of this computer. Has Sxipper submitted my password to user "aStranger" or what happened?

Some basic concept of "Training", "Trainer Name" can be found in Sxipper FAQ. The relationship between
the trainer and you is that the trainer provides a "map" (which information should be put into the form fields) for the form and you use the map that provided by the trainer.

See, the trainers share something with you but you don't reveal anything to anybody, including Sxipper server. In another word, YOUR passwords will stay in YOUR computer and be sent to the right website that YOU choose.

So, the answer is "Yes, your passwords are safe.". :)

And for those forms without a trainer name on it, it's trained by anonymouse user.
